I find that writing down my goals and tracking my progress can be very helpful. This is especially true with running and other exercise. The accountability of tracking my mileage and healthy habits is incredibly helpful.
I have always had a running journal where I track my daily miles. When training for a specific race, it is helpful to be able to look back at my mileage during the past weeks, months, and even years. It was easier to gauge my progress and fitness level when seeing a record of my past runs.
I have my running logs back to when I was in high school!
Even when I am not actively training for a running race, I still record my workouts each day. It helps me stay motivated and stay on track.

The monthly overview is my favorite page. It includes habit trackers and training graphs. Habit trackers are my favorite way to get on track towards a new habit I want to create or bigger goal that I want to accomplish.
