I started my blog a few years ago because I wanted to create the habit of waking up before my daughters. While I had other ideas for the blog, my initial plan was to use it as a way to hold me accountable in getting up early every morning.
I had researched blogging and thought it would be the perfect part-time job when once all our children were in school. As a stay-at-home mom I wanted something flexible and a blog seemed like it would be perfect. I read time and time again that blogging was not a quick and easy way to make money. I knew that it would take time to grow my blog and I was willing to put in the work. I still had a few years before all my children were in school so I knew I had time to see if blogging would be a perfect fit.
Here are the results of getting up early and blogging:
- I was in the habit of waking up before my children and I LOVED the quiet of the morning.
- I have found a way to generate a part-time income from home.
My blog has changed throughout the last almost 3 years and it will continue to do so. While I do not like the name and don’t like to mention it to anyone, it might be here to stay for a while. (I think it’s lame to be called Morning Motivated Mom!)
When I initially brainstormed about starting my blog (Bluehost was having a sale and wanted to quick sign up before the sale was over!) I had a long list of ideas. I realized I had to just pick one and go with it!
Many of the other names I considered had the word “balance” in them. If I had to pick my blog name all over again I would NOT pick Morning Motivated Mom…but I would also not pick one with the word “balance”.
I am realizing that balance in motherhood and life is not my goal. It’s not realistic to think that everything I do will be perfectly balanced based on my priorities. I cannot put percentages on my priorities and expect them to perfectly match.
Balance is not my goal. I want to make sure that my life aligns with my values and priorities.
I want a peaceful home. I want to focus on my family. I want to use my time and resources and money wisely. I want to serve my Savior.
All this without expecting perfection.
All without becoming too overwhelmed.
All with having realistic expectations.
All while leaning on my Savior and His plan for my life.
I want to help you do that also.
I strive to help you plan your days, use your resources wisely, focus on your priorities, take care of yourself, manage and save money, and create a peaceful home…all without overwhelm. I want to encourage you to live a life that aligns with your values and priorities. A life that is not wasted on the things that don’t truly matter to you.
You will find tips and encouragement in:
- Managing Your Time
- Managing Your Home
- Managing Your Resources and Saving Money
- Setting and Achieving Goals
- Growing in Your Faith
- Establishing Health and Wellness Habits
- Managing your blog or small business while staying home with young children
You will receive free updates, morning motivation, printables, blog post highlights, and occasional deals sent your way. Frequency?? Just a few times per month.

New follower over here! So happy we connected and even more excited to catch up with the great things you’ve got going on here. Home maintenance is NO EASY FEAT!!! I’ve always dreamed of the perfect life consisting of a home, family, and all things warm and fuzzy. Three years of marriage, home ownership, and twin babies later… AH! Deep down, I sometimes fear going home because of the clutter, the mess, the never-ending list of tasks. While I know I need to not be so harsh on myself, it is a constant battle that I am more than willing to try anything and everything to get in a better place with it. :)

Welcome, Sharisse! Twins…wow!
Yes, don’t be so harsh on yourself. I’m sure you are doing a wonderful job! Just try to find the right balance in there, so you don’t go crazy. That’s where I’m at. I gave up perfection long ago :)

Probably not your typical reason to blog, but it worked to make early waking a habit! Thanks for reading! And as a fellow Minnesotan, I must ask if you are ready for spring? As that it the most covered topic here. ;)
